Mr. President, do you believe in evil?
What kind of a question is that?
It's a question.
Do you believe that good and bad exist?
If I didn't believe in good and bad, could I be involved in politics?
I don't know. For almost 15 years, I've been trying to understand how politicians determine our fates from their position of power. It's the first time I ask this question, because I realized that in most cases, politicians have a concept of good and bad that is different from that of other citizens. It's as if... as if they could manipulate them. As if their duty weren't to choose between them, but instead... to employ them in the most useful way.
It's the first time I've been asked this.

Sig. presidente, lei crede nel male?
- Mi scusi...che domanda è questa?
- Una domanda come un'altra.
Lei crede nell'esistenza del bene e del male?
Lei pensa che, se non credessi all'esistenza del bene e del male, potrei dedicarmi alla politica?
Non saprei. È da circa 15 anni che cerco di capire come, dall'alto del loro potere, i politici determinino il nostro destino. È la prima volta che faccio questa domanda, perché mi sono accorta che, nella maggior parte dei casi, i politici hanno un diverso concetto del bene e del male rispetto al resto dei cittadini. È come ... come se potessero manipolare questi concetti. Come se il loro compito non fosse scegliere tra l'uno e l'altro, ma, al contrario ... utilizzarli nel modo più utile.
È la prima volta che mi fanno questa domanda.
