Fear of the future, great patience

The new world is established.

The power to decide its own fate,

at least formally,

is in the hands of the people.

The ancient, primordial divinities

co-exist with the new world of reason and freedom.

But how to conclude?

Well, there is no ultimate conclusion.

lt is suspended.

A new nation is born;

its problems are infinite.

But problems are not resolved,

they are experienced.

And life is slow.

Going towards the future cannot have its solution in continuity.

The work of a people knows neither rhetoric nor delay.

Its future is in its fear of the future.

And its fear is a great patience.

  

Le nouveau monde est instauré.

Le pouvoir de décider de son destin,

au moins formellement,

est entre les mains du peuple.

Les anciennes divinités primordiales

Coexistent avec le monde nouveau

de la raison et de la liberté.

Mais comment conclure?

La conclusion définitive n'existe pas,

elle reste en suspens.

Une nation nouvelle est née,

ses problèmes sont infinis.

Mais les problèmes

ne se résolvent pas, ils se vivent.

Et la vie est lente.

La marche vers le futur

n'a pas de solution de continuité.

Le travail d'un peuple ne connaît

ni rhétorique ni délai.

Son futur

est dans sa fièvre du futur.

Et sa fièvre

est une grande patience.

Il nuovo mondo è instaurato.

Il potere di decidere il proprio destino,

Almeno formalmente,

è nelle mani del popolo.

Le antiche divinità primordiali

Coesistono con il nuovo mondo della ragione e della libertà.

Ma come concludere?

Ebbene la conclusione ultima non c’è.

E’ sospesa.

Una nuova nazione è nata.

I suoi problemi sono infiniti.

Ma i problemi non si risolvono,

Si vivono.

E la vita è lenta.

Il procedere verso il futuro

Non ha soluzioni di continuità.

Il lavoro di un popolo

non conosce né retorica né indugi,

il suo futuro è nella sua ansia di futuro

e la sua ansia è una grande pazienza.
